An eclectic day
Apr. 24th, 2020 07:48 pmReally boring stuff behind the tag - but also something positive for a change
Today was hunting day again. Unfortunately, I also had to go to the post office, which opens at 8:30, which always makes my tour a logistic nightmare. Because of the current emergency rule, due to which only seniors (65 years and beyond) are allowed in the food shops between 9 and 12, I had to do all the shopping before that. Unless I wanted to go after noon, when everything is really crowded. I tried that last week - never again!
So I was at Lidl right for the opening and got the mineral water and some other heavy stuff, because that is the shortest distance I had to walk. Then I went to the Auchan supermarket - by tram, which isn't really good in these times, but otherwise I'd have run out of time - and to the Aldi opposite it, where I got some other heavy stuff. Then I went to the post office, paid the insurance rates and got home - by tram again because my back is still acting up, and I couldn't have dragged all the stuff home otherwise.
In the early afternoon I finally got IC guy from the neighbourhood to install my new antivirus programme (via TeamViewer), as the old one is about to run out in 5 days' time. That took longer than expected because my geriatric laptop has become as slow in recent years as its owner. But now I'm safe for another year, I hope. A good thing I didn't have to cook today, though. Leftovers can be life-savers. Or at least time-savers.
And now to the joyous news: another one of my young colleagues is expecting! Yay! They had to postpone the wedding ceremony due to the virus (although they might do the civil part just with the registrar and the witnesses), but the baby is on its way and is supposed to arrive in October - some two and a half weeks after the son of the other young colleague. My own birthday is between the two events, so it promises to be a festive month. ;))
