Foggy Saturday
Jan. 25th, 2020 08:30 pmI've reached that indescribable state when one isn't really ill any more but isn't really healthy yet, either, so one just feels down and... well, grey. Just like the weather outside. Tomorrow is even supposed to have rain - oh joy! Balcony anxiety raises its ugly head again.
I didn't do much today, TBH. Well, household chores, of course (Saturday is washing day by us), and I made 3 little felt Easter eggs, using the pretty things
elwenlj sent me. Granted, cutting out the 2x40 egg shapes cost me lots of time. Actually, 3x40 shapes, as I had to cut the lining to the right shape, too. I used little cosmetic cotton pads; they make lining so much easier, as they are sturdy enough to keep their shape; plus, they are a lot cheaper than regular filling material. Craft supplies are expensive, so one has to be creative where one can. ;)) Since I only decorate one side of the eggs, I fixed the lining to the other one with double-sided tape and could easily sew on the decorated side once it was finished. There'll be photos later, when I've made a few more; don't want to take photos of every two or three.
We ate leftovers from yesterday, so I didn't have to do much cooking. Just boosted the leftover pasta with some bacon, eggs, creme freche and grated cheese to make it look like carbonara. Mum was happy enough with it, and so was I. The apple soup, boosted with a handful of sour cherries she filched from my cake supplies, went well with it.
