wiseheart: (Valinor by Ted Nasmith)
[personal profile] wiseheart
One of my colleagues - well, ex-colleagues, although I still don't think of them in past tense - came over today for a visit. I was very happy to see her; her phone was broken in recent days, and I was worried that I couldn't reach her. I was afraid something might have happened in the family. Fortunately, it wasn't so, and we had a grand old time together. We talked, had snacks and coffee and listened to the records of our Christmas concert.

She used to be a choir member for many years, however she couldn't sing with us this day due to family problems and too much work. I hope she'll be able to return next year; we've got too few reliable sopranos, and she does have a lovely voice. When her daughter - now an adult - was small, she take her to choir practice, out of necessity, and the girl learned all the soprano parts, too. It is still a nice memory for both of us.

Other than that, I worked a bit on my Russian paper dolls for the charity ball - fortunately, I prepared all the snacks for tomorrow already, so there was no need to slave over the hot oven today. There will be but a few small things as there'll be only Mum and myself. I'll post a pic of the decked table, just for the fun of it.

Oh, and I actually did a bit of writing, too, both yesterday and today! The year couldn't end on a better note, I think!
