Not identical with Baby Emma, of course. She (and Bruno) were named after a character from one of my favourite childhood book. It took place in a forest, where the owl (the notary of the animals) happened to find a calendar many years before the actual story, but since he didn't know the difference between male and female human names, all animal babies got really bizarre names. One of them was called Polar Teddy Bruno Emma. I don't even remember whether it was a male or a female character. *g*

In any case, here comes Teddy girl Emma, from the front and from the back:

She's got a pretty dress ([livejournal.com profile] elwenlj do you recognize the lace?), but I still think Bruno has a cuter face. And I gave the poor thing eyes that aren't in the same line. I didn't want to remove them when I realized my mistake because the fabric they're made off isn't felt: it is something soft and fluffy, and I was afraid that if I cut off the button, it would still leave a mark. So the poor teddy has bad eyes. *sigh*

I was pretty much sewing all day. I've finished Bärli, the 3rd teddy (a brown one of different design) so far that all he needs is the bearly equivalent of the Lederhosen, and then sewing the whole thing together. But I'll leave that for Monday's sewing circle with the colleagues. I did make some more Santa's socks, though. And did some translation, too.

She's a cutie, but I think I like Bruno best too.

Bruno has a lovely face and a dashing body. Emma is broader because of the dress; the felt was just a bit too stiff.

I prefer Emma, you can say her wonky eye is a tribute to the lovely Shannen Doherty (https://media.glamour.com/photos/56959cb893ef4b09520d79c1/master/h_1025,c_limit/slideshow-90210-04-Shannen-Doherty-Now-main.jpg) from "Charmed" who also had a cute wonky eye placement.

I didn't even notice the eyes until you pointed them out--the dress is so pretty! The hearts and the lace are a lovely touch.

I remember the name Bärli as one of the goats in Heidi. :-)

Oh, thank you for the suggestion, Shannen Doherty was my favourite in "Charmed", too. I really, really disliked Alyssa Milano's character - mostly because the actress is so unnatural and posed.

True, true. I thought it would be the right name for a brown teddy, though. :)

I think Emma is cute in spite of the eyes being as they are. I hope your sewing goes well.

I'm going to use them a lot for the doll house quiet book. That one has curtains and stuff, so your trimmings will do me great service.

Oh, it goes well enough - unless I'm distracted enough to sew the decorative elements on the wrong side and have to undo the whole thing, which happened twice in the last two days. *sigh*

There's one good thing about Emma's wonky eyes, though: my heart won't break when I have to sell her.

I took up knitting in August, at that time I hadn´t knitted for years. At the moment I am working on a scarf, when it is finished I will sell it so it comes to good use.

I think I've totally forgotten how to knit. I never was very good at it, but what little I knew is gone, too.

I learned to knit in school but it took a while to figure out how I should do it because I am lefthanded and my teacher at the time was righthanded but we found out in the end. At the moment I knit in a basic manner so it will get finished quickly.
