A pleasant day

wiseheartOne of my younger ex-colleagues paid me a visit today. She helped to set my birthday prezzie (the mini sewing machine) up correctly, so I hope I'll be able to use it in the future without difficulties.
Since Grandma always said that one ought to serve one's guests nice things, I baked a hazelnut-chocolate sponge cake, filled with red currant jam and topped with white chocolate icing.

The decoration consists of mini marshmallows and milk chocolate drops. It turned out very yummy. A good thing that I can eat basically everything in the 8 hours when I'm allowed to eat at all. As it is, I don't feel particularly hungry during the rest of the day, surprisingly enough. Actually, I eat less than I used to. Hopefully, it will work out. My ankles and knees would be grateful.
Other than that, yesterday we finally had the dratted windows cleaned, so a big part of the renovating hell's damage has been cleaned up. Only the doors left.
