Attention: Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019.

I think I'm gonna delete my remaining Yahoo Groups.

It makes me so sad to think of all the fic which will be lost. When I think how much used to be only posted on Yahoo Groups in the olden days... Even if many of these groups have become inaccessible to new users over the years due to them being subscribers-only and no mods left, you could still get lucky every now and then with a public group.

Yeah, I know. Plus, I used to store safety copies of my stuff in the Files section, and character lists in the data tables... photos, too. First they revamped the groups, so that everything became much more complicated, and now this. What purpose will the stupid groups serve at all, with this change?

Yeah. I have no idea. My best guess is this is just a step towards completely shutting down Yahoo Groups.

Sounds like it's gonna be a pain for you to download all of that. Good thing they at least gave some advance warning.

Nah, I don't have to download my files. I've got everything on my HD. I just mustn't forget to copy it into a data stick more often.

I tried to get back into Channel D a while back, but for the life of me, I can't find my password. I knew this day was coming for the end of the Groups. I'll always remember the thrill I had when I found the Yahoo Groups for the Man from U.N.C.L.E. fandom.

That is sad to hear, I was a member of quite a few Yahoo groups.

It was the same for me with "Tour of Duty" and "Kindred: The Embraced".

Yeah, me, too. And even though most of them were quite dead for a while, I went back to re-read the old stories stored in the Files section.
