Because I still don't have enough craft ideas, right? But this one is hard to resist, especially as old, useless CDs tend to pile up in every modern household.

I didn't know you can get the coating off a CD like that. Looks interesting.

Neither did I! But I tried, and it works. I've stripped 3 CDs in 20 minutes or so. It probably goes faster, too, but I needed to figure out the trick first.

But what would you do with it? (Also, they always make it look so easy in these vids :D )

Window decoration, I would think. And it doesn't have to be perfect.

Definitely! We might try it with colleague E's 7th term class.

I also did not know you could remove the coating from a CD. The video makes the process look simple as pie, but as always, easier said than done. I would think one needs a very steady hand to apply the lines/pattern and the paint. Definitely, a neat project though.

Best of luck. I had some stained glass paint, but gave it to the theatre... I will have to think about this.

Well, we'll see how it works for real, but I'm mildly excited about it. Found a few pretty Christmas-themed mandala templates on the 'net, so...

Yep, it did catch my eye at once.

True, but I intend to make a few Christmas-themed ones with the seventh-term kids for our charity fair, and there it isn't too bad when they are a bit uneven.

What a great idea!

I am not a craft person but this - this I would do - thank-you.

You are welcome. :)
So far my experiences have taught me that the ones best suited are the data CDs - the ones without labels on them. It is very easy to remove the coating of those, while removing the labels is real pain. Some of the ones I've peeled so far are a fairly deep blue in colour, so I'm not sure how glass paint will work on them, but we'll see.
