... and even less writing, I'm afraid. Like, none at all.

In the morning Mum and I slept in a bit, something we didn't have the chance while the renovating insanity was going on. Then I had to go to a funeral, after which we went to Stühmer's Café with three ex-colleagues, all of us retired by now. It was very nice to have the time and leisure to chat with them, and since I had to do some shopping for groceries afterwards, it was well beyond 2 pm that I got home.

Then I got distracted by a bit of crafting, having made the fish tail of the Little Mermaid. That escalated into sorting out some more sequins, this time the flower-shaped ones... not that I had finished it, but at least the largest ones are now properly sorted. The middle ones and the small ones will have to follow eventually.

By then it was almost 7 pm, so I decided that I no longer was in the right mindset for anything that involved actual thinking and wasted my time with playing solitaire on the computer. *sigh*

Still, it was nice to meet the colleagues; since those of our choir who are actually in town banded together to sing on the funeral, at least a dozen or more of us were there, and we got to catch up a bit afterwards.

Sorry about the funeral - but it's usually a good time to meet people. Somehow strange ...

It is. This time it was a rather neutral affair, though, as we didn't even know all too well the deceased. He worked with us on a few musical events - us as a choir, as he was a music teacher and brought his Blaskapelle to our concerts, but that was basically it. Oh, and his grandchildren went to our school, but as I said, not too much personal contact, although he was a very pleasant person.

What a nice tribute, the choir singing at the funeral. I am sure it meant a lot to the family. Stühmer's Café, as always, a wonderful place to relax and meet with friends. Wish there was an equivalent here. Luck with your crafting!

The family was moved indeed. And the meeting at the coffee was very nice; G was there, a colleague who retired ten years ago and although she comes back to the school for yoga weekly, we hardly ever found the time to really talk - until now.
