Nose report

No pain. Well, a little bit when I poke at some points to energetically, but that's okay. No discolouring, so my new career as a mandrill is over before it would have started. However, my nose looks like a sweet potato - not very aesthetic. I hope the swelling will go down eventually but Mum says it will take a long time. *not happy*

Definitely sounds better than it did the other day!

Yeah, I know I should be grateful that I got away relatively easily. It's just so annoying...

That does sound better than it did yesterday but damn I wouldn't be happy either. And these swellings do take a long time to get better. Hope you aren't in too much pain anymore, at least.

Well, I needed to bake a Hefezopf and to listen to Dan Vasc singing hard rock to make me feel better, *g*

So do I. It's funny, I'm usually not a vain person, but this potato in the middle of my face is depressing.

Again, some ice would help with the swelling.

I know, but I've got a scarring wound in the middle that wouldn't react well to it. So I have to stick to pressing cold butter knives to the side of my nose. *g*

Crushed ice in a soft tea towel shouldn't bother it that much.

That's understandable. It's right there, you can't help noticing it, and you just want it back to normal because it's an unwelcome reminder of your accident.

Hmmm... thanks for the suggestion!

Not to mention that it makes wearing glasses, which I need, a real bother.

Yes, as a glasses wearer I can see that would be a problem/.

Particularly with the pair I use when at the PC. They are a bit narrower in the middle and don't fit on my "new" nose. So I'm working without glasses now, enlarging the font size and everything, but it's still hard on the eyes. *sigh*

No worries. I've had smashed noses myself.

Well here's hoping you won't have to resort to such desperate measures for long!

Hope it heals quickly -- that sounds horrible, especially trying to wear glasses.
