My little blood bath at the shopping centre

I'm sure motodraconis will appreciate the irony...

I wanted to buy some LED candles today but didn't pay proper attention and walked frontally into the shop window. My nose isn't broken, thank God, but it bled like a slaughtered pig and is now quite swollen. Not how I imagined my Sunday, for sure, but it was my own stupid fault. The only good thing is that Mum wasn't present when it happened.

I've collided with shop windows before, but never that badly. Sounds like you need to put some ice on it. That's going to hurt for a while.

Tis the season! For bizarre accidents evidently. Sounds so painful, my nose is still not 100% even now. Thank goodness you did not break your shnoz but even so, ouch!

Good lord. Hope the swelling goes down quickly--how did you explain it to your Mum? I've done that with a glass door, tricky thing that glass! Luckily I was just embarrassed, not hurt ;)

Oddly enough, it doesn't actually hurt, save around the small scar on my nose, but that isn't too bad, either. I was just scared shitless by all that blood. It literally dropped from my fingers, they had to call a cleaning lady to wipe it up.

Yeah, it is very unpleasant. I still have a spot of nosebled time and again, but I hope it will settle soon.

Nose can bleed a lot, like scalp wounds. Lots of blood vessels. Just try not to blow too hard for a while to avoid setting it off again. Must have hurt at the time!

No, unlikely it is, it didn't really hurt. The impact was so hard that I think I went into some kind of mild shock, and then I was too busy with the bleeding and all that. Yeah, I know I'll have to avoid to blow my nose for a while, which will be hard enough, seeing that I need to do that a lot. *sigh*

Ouch is the right word, yeah. I have no pain, actually, I just have a thick potato in the middle of my face at the moment and am constantly worried that something would set off the nosebled again.

I tried, but the wound started to bleed again. So I just put some salve on it (where there isn't the wound) against the swelling and hope for the best.

The problem is that the shop has a glass shop front with an opening in the middle where you can enter. I've been there several times and never happened anything, but today I somehow mistook the last glass panel for the opening and tried to walk through it... needless to say it didn't work. :P

Mum was at the other end of the shopping centre when it happened, and at the time people hunted her down (she forgot to switch her mobile phone on) the blood was already wiped up and I was more or less cleaned up, waiting for the local equivalent of 911.

Wow! Any time I bump my nose even slightly it really hurts and makes my eyes water. Maybe your nose was numb with cold or something. Whatever the cause, I'm glad it didn't cause you a lot of pain because that's never fun.

I don't doubt it. Certain areas have just begun to be a bit sensitive - I expect my nose to be covered in colourful bruises by tomorrow. I'll look like a mandrill - I already have the nose shape, now the blue colouring is about to come, I think.

Well, it's hard to tell whether it's still a tiny bit bleeding or it's just that I've got a permanent cold and what comes out naturally is tinted with the dried blood from the accident... honestly, I hope it's the latter.

Oh my, so sorry to hear about your nose. Glad it is not broken. I had my first nose bleed this year from the dryness of cold weather and it was not pleasant. I cannot begin to imagine what you went through with a nosebleed from trauma! Sorry I have not responded for awhile, I ended up hosting the Christmas celebration/dinner at my house last minute and am just now recovering.
