1. What did you do in 2018 that you’d never done before?
Retired! *pumps fist in air*
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any and won't do so, either. No reason to put more pressure upon myself.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, one of my oldest acquaintances; though we had little contact in recent years.
5. What countries did you visit?
Austria. I don't get much farther with Mum in these days.
6. What would you like to have in 2019 that you lacked in 2018?
More writing done.
7. What date from 2018 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 4 - the last day at work. *g*
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hmmm... I think that would be the amazing success at the charity fair.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Still getting hurt by idiots.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No; coughing through the winter doesn't count as an illness for me; it's the normal way of things.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Some amazing craft paper.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration this year?
My young colleague's, who wrote the farewell speech for me.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Same as last year - politicians. Since Boss Woman no longer counts.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Apart from essentials like living and food: to crafting materials and DVDs.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Risking to repeat myself without end: my retirement!
16. What song will always remind you of 2017?
Errr... you mean 2018, right? That's easy: Händel's Hallelujah chorus sung by Dan Vasc as one-man choir.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Much, much happier (retirement, anyone?)
ii. thinner or fatter? People say I've lost weight but I don't really notice.
iii. richer or poorer? There isn't much difference, really.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Reading. Writing. Getting out of the house (going to work so doesn't count).
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Eating carbs.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Quietly and peacefully with Mum.
21. How will you be spending New Year’s?
Watching TV - Oliver Kalkofe marathon.
22. Did you fall in love in 2018?
In a sense. If getting all fangirl-ish over Dan Vasc counts. *g*
23. How many one-night stands?
Do fictional characters in my stories count? Because they have a rather vigorous sex life, especially Jack Harkness. *g*
24. What was your favourite TV programme(s)?
I found nothing new that would have been worth watching.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No. I'm consequent in my dislike of people.
26. What was the best book you read?
"The History of the Hobbit" by John Rateliff.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Ummm... if you think of actual musicals, then nothing. If we're speaking of music in general, then Dan Vasc. Yeah, I know I'm repetitive.
28. What did you want and get?
Heh. Did I already mention my retirement?
29. What did you want and not get?
More quiet writing time.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I didn't even get close to a cinema this year. Or the year before, for that matter.
31. What did you do on your birthday?
Nothing special. I was working all day.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Nothing I could think of. I did get my retirement, after all.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2018?
Comfy.
34. What kept you sane?
Who said I was sane this year? Or in any other year of my existence?
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I'm safely beyond that age... actually, I never really did that. Not even as a teenager.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
In our country, it would be hard to pick just one. :((
37. Who did you miss?
Friends who've dropped off the face of Earth.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I haven't met anyone new in RL. I met a couple of lovely ladies here on LJ, though, thanks to
lindahoyland's friending meme.
