8 days left...
Nov. 27th, 2018 08:13 pm... and today was a lot more pleasant.
Firstly, my candied ginger dried out rather nicely; I think I'll be able to use it just fine to give
spikesgirl58's recipe a try. Spikey, I hope you don't mind but I shared the recipe with several interested co-workers, so expect to have a solid fanbase in Hungary. *g*
Secondly, Mum dealt with the phone company. It turned out that the bank had been late with transferring the money. It has arrived in the meantime, but the various departments within the phone company are apparently incapable of telling each other such basic things. Idiots.
Thirdly, I finally finished the "Holiday Cookie Wonder" album. I promised you pictures, right?
The cover with the laminated loose recipes:

And a few glimpses of the inside, with the glued-in recipes:

(BTW, Santa says: "I guarantee you, this is just a fleeting dream" *g*)
I also finished the owl earrings promised to my young colleague, TA. The picture is a bit blurred because the things are really tine, about the size of a 2-Eurocent-piece, but it gives you an idea. Also, the owls are actually silver-coloured - a gift from my good friend
artemis10002000, who knows I like to tinker around with new things - but they turned out almost black on the photo. :(

Then we had choir practice, among other things we're practicing Halleluja by Händel. At the end, we watched together Dan Vasc's one-man-choir version (the one I already posted here a few entries back). The girls - well, mature ladies, many of them my age or not much younger - were in hysterics. We all agreed that if he could do it alone, we ought to be able to do it, too. *g*

Date: 2018-11-27 08:05 pm (UTC)I think the first thing I'm going to do is to celebrate a little with Mum. We originally planned to go to our favourite restaurant on my very first day of freedom; unfortunately, it has just closed for good a month or so ago. We were very sad about it and haven't found a proper replacement just yet. So we'll have to do something else, I guess.

Date: 2018-11-27 11:17 pm (UTC)The owls aren't my work.
My colleague has an owl pendant that looks exactly the same, just about ten times as big. That gave me the idea to make her a pair of earrings.
