... and I'm sick like a dog. Must have eaten something that doesn't agree with me - and that right now when we'll have to work on Saturday as well! Grrr!

Other than that, I took Mum to the eye doctor today and we were both relieved that the condition of her eyes - cataracts and all - hasn't got any worse in the last six months. Afterwards, we went to one of our usual haunts to eat because, as you know there's still no gas in the house. Drat.

My colleague - the one who for some mysterious reason doesn't speak to me any more - called in sick for the last 3 days she'd have to spend at school. I'm trying to give her the benefit of doubt and believe that she's in fact ill... but it isn't easy.

Oh - so you managed to get to the docs and have a meal after all before you had to go to work? Great!

Ugh - hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. It was a somewhat stressful day and I didn't expect it ending with running to the loo every 10 or 20 minutes, but, well, life is unpredictable.

I'm so glad I only volunteer for two afternoons at the shop nowadays. I don't miss the drama's and anxiety of working five days per week.

Yeah, and we are allowed to do her work as well - until her permanent replacement arrives next Tuesday.

I'm much better today, thanks. This one-day stomach virus or whatever it is usually raises its ugly head once a year. It is very unpleasant, but at least doesn't last long.

I have indeed. This rarely lasts longer than a day, but for that day I'm usually completely miserable.

I'll be glad to leave all that drama behind me, too.

Much better, thanks. This is a one-day agony, as a rule, but what a day!
