Nov. 4th, 2018 08:32 pm... and I thought I'd air out this particular icon as I haven't used it for Ages. Literally.
This is the family emblem of my LotR OC, Lord Orchaldor, "played" in my mind by an older Sean Connery. He hailed from a very old Númenórean family (his ancestor came to ME on Anárion's ship) but lost his lands in Ithilien to Mordor and all that remained him was Halabor, a small fishing town (based on the really existing French fishing village Yvoire) opposite Cair Andros. He was related by marriage to Lord Forlong of Lossarnach and died with practically everyone else in the town 4 years before the War of the Ring, due to an Orc attack. Boromir came too late to save them.
Stories featuring Lord Orchaldor are, in no particular order:
A Brotherly Gift
The Young Knights
Tales from Halabor
An Autumn Fair in Halabor
The Shoemaker's Daughter
The Last Yule in Halabor
Yes, this is actually shameless self-advertising, in the hope that new people might get interested in these old stories. They're not doing too well on AO3, the poor things, but used to be well-liked on SoA and even the Pit of Voles and are now old enough to be new for late-comers. *fingers crossed*
Other than that, I didn't do much today. Finished Jigsaw Chapter 15 of Dwobbit, started Jigsaw Chapter 16, baked some cheesy buns and was pissed for RTL2 taking Zuhause im Glück and Der Trödeltrupp off of Sunday afternoon programme. Now I have nothing left to watch on Sundays. *sigh*
