... and I've turned 62 today. Of course, if you look at it from the opposite direction it's only 26, so I can live with my age. *g*

Anyway, we had a nice little celebration with the choir after rehearsal, with cheap apple juice and even cheaper wafers - but we had fun! The choir sang Hallelujah (by Händel) to honour me... and because that's what we're learning right now for the Christmas concert, but ÁM, our choir leader, declared that this time it was for me. Works for me.

Mum and I ate the last piece of the World's Ugliest Opera Cake for supper and we drank the strawberry liquor (all 100 ml of it) that we'd bought in Krems a year and a half ago, so it was very festive. As a rule, we drink alcohol 4 times a year: at Christmas, Easter, her birthday and my birthday.

A colleague of mine gifted some very pretty craft papers on me (yay!) and [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris texted me to congratulate and to tell me that a parcel was on its way. Let's hope it doesn't get lost (or stolen) like last year. [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris makes the most inspired gifts, often fandom-related, so I'm very excited.

Other than that, I don't really feel any difference. 62 isn't a milestone or whatnot, even if it was (hopefully) the last birthday I had to spend at work.

Happy Birthday my dear!

It sounds like a very nice quiet birthday, even if work kept you from doing more with the day. Just think, next year you will be able to have a trip on your birthday if you wish to.

Very true! We should plan a meeting somewhere halfway from both our homes (Austria comes to mind) and have a riot together. ;))

It's the same with me. I didn't feel any difference between 59 and 60.

The only milestone that ever depressed me was 30 - and that only because I felt I should have "made" myself by then and clearly hadn't.

I wasn't depressed when I turned 30, but I was very depressed when my hubby did. Go figure...

I had, yes, thank you. I'm hoping for a few peaceful years in good health to do a few of the things I never got to do because of work.
