Yes, I remember all the hysterics when the Russians bought LJ - people mass-migrated to DW, but the sad truth is, although I do have an account and import my LJ there on the weekly basis, no-one of them bothered to comment at all.
Central heating has the disadvantage that you can't decide when you want to turn it on; although if it had been our choice, we would have, too. Mum is at home most of the day and she's almost 87 by now, she needs her creature comfort. As for me, I spend too much time standing around on the school yard by every weather to tolerate cold well. I used not to be bothered by the cold, but I think I've got miniature ice shards in my bone marrow by now, so yeah, I like it cosy and warm when inside the flat.
