Trying out a new design

This is a miniature chest of drawers, made of medium-sized matchboxes and lots of cardboard leftovers from earlier projects. I'll gift it to our school secretary because she's a sweetheart; she can keep her paper clips and other office stuff in it.

I must admit that this design turned out a great deal more complicated than I originally thought, mostly because I wanted the mini-drawers to be actually functional, so I couldn't simply glue their backs to a piece of cardboard. I had to make a whole cardboard construct to have something to keep them in place, and it didn't always work out as I hoped for.

If I ever do something similar, I'll have to find a better layout and perhaps only use the little drawers, without the rest of the matchbox. Well, we'll see. No need to make another one, soon - unless someone asks for it.
