Shabby chic explosion box
May. 10th, 2018 08:26 pmYes, it's finally finished! I made it for a colleague for Teacher's Day, so she won't get it for another two or three weeks yet, more so as some kids from her class still have to sign the tags, but I thought you folks might like a sneak peek. *g*
This is what the box looks like when closed, with the lid on:

Let's take a closer look at the lid with the hand-made paper flower, shall we?

The finished box looks like this in the inside:

This is the same thing, with the gift-wrapped Belgian chocolates added (and let me tell you, it was quite the feat to wrapp such small pieces properly, especially with my sausage fingers. The whole box is a mere 10x10x10 centimetres, after all.)

The middle layer isn't very spectacular on the outside, but there's so much stuff on the other layers that I didn't want to overdo it. So I simply went with the major colours of the box, namely the various pink and lilac and lavender stuff:

As said above, I really went wild with the middle layer. This is what it looks like in the inside, with the tabs removed, so that the beautiful patterns of the various papers I used can be seen:

The same with the tags stuck in where they belong:

The middle layer on the outside. The colours are really a bit more subdued, but I was stupid enough to use the automatic correction function and it made them a bit garish. The background, for example, isn't really yellow but a greyish white. *headdesk*

The outer layer, with both the pop-up and closer cards open. Again the original colours are much more decent. I'll have to do something with the pictures eventually.- *sigh*

And finally, the outer layer with the flaps closed. The wardrobe-like look wasn't intended, it just turned out this way. As for the colours, see above.
