We had a heavy shower and now it's leaking again.

A year and a half ago we had this torturous balcony renovation that took almost two months and cost half a month's salary. For three quarters of a year, there were no problems, despite the sometimes stormy rains. Then the leaking began again.

We hired one of those industrial alpinist guys who sail down from the roof - this is a ten-storey building and we live on storey 2 - to isolate the balcony from the outside. Again, for several months, everything was fine and dandy.

And then, a couple of weeks ago, the leaking started again. I don't know what to do anymore, aside from putting sponges under the leaking places. The problem is when we leave for a week or so for our annual holidays and there is heavy rain in our absence - everything will rot until we get home.

Besides, this isn't a solution in the long run. Now I understand why [livejournal.com profile] ithilwen gave up on Himring after a few years. Unfortunately, we're in no position to find other lodgings. We bought these 53 square metres of concrete 40-some years ago in the hope that we're done for the rest of our lives. *sigh*
