I've been sick like a dog in the last three days and it's not over yet by far. Not terribly ill, mind you, just your run-of-the mill cold, with heightened temperatures, a stuffed nose, headaches and coughing my lungs up in pieces. Not bad enough to stay at home with it, just bad enough to make you miserable.

So yeah. I am miserable. I wake up every other hour in the night from my own coughing, or because I don't get any air, and as a result I'm ridiculously tired all the time. I even lowered myself to drinking tea, which is the deepest sign of despair for me, as I hate tea with a passion.

Anyway, as I'm not sick enough, I'll have to go to work tomorrow. At least I happily missed a long-planned family gathering yesterday (Mum went alone, though, and enjoyed herself greatly, thank God) and finished the next chapter of "A Matter of Time". I couldn't type it, though, cause my main PC in the study is next to the window and our central heating isn't going yet. Grrr! I hate colds!

On a different note, my goddaughter has just given birth to the sweetest baby boy on the planet, who's over 3700 grams, 58 centimetres and is called Theodor. Yay!

Hope you soon feel better, hugs.

That is great news about the baby.

He is an incredibly sweet little boy - his Grandma sent us two pics and we're drooling over them with Mum like whoa!

As for my cold, it's the type that you can't do much against but drink lots of warm fluids and wait until it goes away. *sigh*

I'm trying. It takes its time, as always. Not working would help, of course, but I can't afford to stay home with such a relatively minor illness, so it takes twice or thrice the time, but that can't be helped.

How are you doing?

I hope you will get well soon, it is definetly NOT nice to have a cold. The fewer one has the better.

It isn“t nice to feel cold at home, decent heating is a must in my opinion.

Congratulations to your goddaughter on the birth of her boy, I am sure he is the loveliest Theodor anywhere. Each person is best in the world at being him- or herself in my opinion.

Battling on, waiting to have blood tests to see if the doctor can figure out what's causing my problems, but I still have a week to wait for that. At least the weather's improved a bit. Sunshine is very cheering.

Make sure you stay warm and drink plenty!

I empathise with your misery! I had a similar bout a couple weeks ago, went through boxes of tissues and throat lozenges, but did see the end of it after about ten days. I hope yours goes more quickly than that.

Very true. It was a very easy birth for Edina, they say, so little Theo is a pretty little boy, not having had to suffer much during the process. A sturdy one, his grandmother says.

I'm trying. Unfortunately, I can't afford to skip work, so it's a slow process.

I seriously doubt it. As for today, I've been at it for a week, and while it has got a little better, I still feel miserable. Work conditions don't help, either - I need to stand on the school yard at least an hour with the kids each day, and the cold wind, as well as the draught within the building only make everything worse.

The fact that our central heating hasn't been started yet doesn't help, either.

Oh, dear! This is awful. No chance of being excused from the hour in the wind? I seem to recall your having to take on much work of a colleague with some ailment.

Do you have hot water bottles or heating pads at home?

That is nice to hear. It sounds like he will be strong which is good indeed. Blessings on both of them.
