Update on domestic joys

Firstly, thank you for all of you who gave a word of encouragement. It's much appreciated. No, really, it meant a lot to me.
The case at the moment:
1. The bed is fixed. I'll be very careful with it in the future, and use a feather duster to clean my bookshelves instead of hopping onto the bed as I've done all my life. Apparently, one can't expect from manufacturers to make the diagonal planks of a bed grid from one piece each, instead of glueing them together from several fragments. So much about quality work... or the lack of it.
2. Still waiting at the service guy to fetch the satellite receiver, but at least I can use the time to rewatch some old favourites. I've just rewatched the complete "Crusade" series, to get used to cryptic Galen speech again.
3. Still no new computer, but I met the wife of IT guy in the elevator, and I could at least send a distress signal. Also, I've managed to commandeer one of the computers in the teachers' room at school for almost three hours today and managed some long overdue work as well as typed up Part 13 of "Kansas 2". Phew!
4. Health annoyances are getting slowly better, but they might take some time to completely go away yet.
All in all, I'm not complaining... much. #grin#
