Well; a week and a half of the long-awaited summer holiday is over already, and I don't feel particularly rested. Of course, doing more writing (even if general interest for the results is the same as always, it's still a Good Thing in my books) and more research is time-consuming, and so is doing some sensible cooking. Time seems to fly much faster the older I get.

I guess the same is true for my online friends. Everyone is swamped with work, and we are barely present in cybrspace. There was a time when I complained about the fact that if someone else's goldfish had a heartburn it got more attention than my workplace stress or that I nearly broke my neck when stupidly climbing onto a chair in the bathtube to fix something or other in the bathroom. Now I'd be just grateful if people were still present and I knew they were all right. I miss them.

So glad to still have you, Linda and Jenn and Dís and the few others who are still around!

Still alive! I hope you are able to relax more as time goes on, and writing is always positive.

*hugs* It sounds like you've been busy despite the holiday - hopefully feeling rested will come.

Yeah, I read about your house-hunting adventures. *g*
In a way, I almost envy you. To be able to start something entirely new might be a challenge, but it's also refreshing.
Me, I just wish I could retire. Getting irreversibly old, I guess. And If I'm cursed to be lonely, at least I'd like to enjoy the solitude as long as I can. Alas, instead I can look forward for another six years of anxiety or so, about keeping a job that gives me incresingly less satisfaction. *sighs*
But at least it still pays the bills, so I'm doing my best to keep it.

If only I would get to rest! *g*
The problem with holidays is that one always tries so desperately to catch up with one's backlog that resting falls to the roadside.

Thanks. *hugs back*
I don't have real life friends at all - somehow they turned out less than true friends as soon as they no longer needed me to do things for them - so the vanishing of my online ones is really hard.

Refreshing is one way of putting it -- downright terrifying is another! And aie, the things one needs to do to pay the bills...

*waves hi* Like you, I've been so overly-busy I've not even had a chance to enjoy this summer. Somehow this has got to STOP!

I also need to get off my lazy butt and hang around LJ more. Even if I'm too lazy and tired to post, I should still be able to comment! After a decade, it would be a pity to drift away from all my LJ friends.

Sending a hug your way. It would be nice if we could meet in real life, as it is these meetings will have to do.

Well, at least we did have that one meeting. Mum and I are still talking about it - about the good time we had with you. :)

Indeed. It's a sad thing to lost contact with people you've come to like very much.

We did have that and it was nice to spend time with you and your mum. Give her a hug for me. :)
