Life is being a bit colourless at the moment. I'm drowning in work with several colleagues ill, my back is still killing me, after 5 or 6 weeks, I've actually lost count, I still can't use my computer, and I'm so worn out I haven't written a word all week. All of which makes me more than a little depressed.

Sbdy favourited half a dozen of my stories today and/or put them on story alert, which is nice. Alas, there was no revew. When I read these - admittedly good - stories with several hundreds, sometimes over 1000 reviews, I could die from desperate envy. But perhaps I am going on about this wrong. Perhaps I actually de write mediocre shit. Perhaps my stuff does lack originality, what with all my AUs and fix-its. Perhaps I should swear off writing fanfic entirely and try to write my own stuff again.

I know that a cheery word isn't going to make any of those burdens go away, but I hope it eases up soon and you can get to do something fun for youself sometime soon.

Hugs.I think your Cadfael stories are as good as Ellis Peter's and your Sherlock stories way better than the TV series.

Thanks. The Cadfael stories are the ones I am actually proud of. At least they are not derivative... Most of them. I do have the tendency to repedt - that is, fix - canon a bit too much, mostly because I'm not a native speaker and depend on the vocabulary.

Sorry to have been absent while moving. What has happened to your back? Pain is so very tiring, I'm amazed you can do anything after teaching and all the other responsibilities at work! [hugs]

How did the moving go?

I pinched a nerve in my back in early January. It happens every other year, and always on the same spot (perhaps there's some structural mishap, eh?), and it takes forever to heal properly. Mostly because I can't give myself backrubs. I put the backs of a lot of colleagues back in working order in no time with my magic massages, but you just can't do that to myself, unfortunately.

And yeah, pain is tiring. And crippling in your usual activities, too.
