wiseheart | Last entry of the year 2013

Most likely, since we've barely got 2 hours left from the year. Don't worry, there won't be no long and boring analysis of the year almost behind us. It was long, it did have its ups and downs, but we survived it and that's what matters, right?

I'm actually deliriously happy that I didn't spend this years Christmas break in sickbed, like in the previous years. Let's hope my luck lasts till the end of the week.

Other than that, the last weeks of the year was pretty much like the previous ones.

I got idiotic condescending reviews, removed the anon one, blocked the signed reviewer. Several of my stories got favourited or went to someone's story alert list, which is good. None of those people left reviews, which is - I don't know if it's good or bad. On the one hand, not getting reviews is a bit discouraging. On the other hand, at least I don't get a knot in my stomach when I open a review alert from FF.Net. People who lecture and nitpick are always more eager to leave a note, for some reason.

The biggest feat of the year is that I've finished "Emissary", of course. And the muse apparently valued the quiet time, since I made very decent headway with the Miss Marple/Sherlock crossover, too. I've just finished Chapter 08 and launched into Chapter 09 as well. I might finish that one, too, before the end of the week with a bit of luck.

And the second "Hobbit" film resulted in me picking up "Astonishment of Mirkwood" after a decade-long hiatus. I've rechristened the story to "The Trials of a Woodland King", as my focus shifted from Legolas to Thranduil. I don't think I'll be able to write anything from Legolas's POV again for at least a couple of years. The film killed him for me again.
