... because I haven't done one of those for a while, and because I really ought to post other things than update alerts for the faithful lovelies who still care for my stuff. You know who you are and how much I love you. *hugs*

Anyway, progress reports are a good way to keep tab for myself on what I'm doing. With working on so many different stories at the same time, it's almost a necessity.

Sooo, Emissary of the Mark has reached what I sincerely hope to be its penultimate chapter. That would end the story with Chapter 16, which doesn't seem too much, but those are fairly long chapters, so I'm content. When I finally finish this sucker, there will be a celebration with eggnog by Mum and me. She never read a word of what I've written (she doesn't speak English, and I wouldn't subject her to some of my stuff anyway), but she's a definite cheerleader.

I've written four chapters of a future installment of Adventures of a Consulting Time Lord - basically the Wholock version of "A Scandal in Belgravia" I can't tell you the title just yet, cause that would be a dead give-away. It has great Mycroft-Ianto scenes, though.

The next installment, The Serpent's Lair, has come to a halt, because I haven't forced myself to write the reunion scene between John and Mary yet. I have written the part coming after that, though, so the story currently has a hole in the middle. Gah.

My Miss Marple/Sherlock BBC x-over, Precious Like Rubies, is going on fine at the moment. With some effort, I moved the plot away from its dead spot, with the questionable result of a 15-page-long Chapter 06 (which still needs to be typed up) and am 5 pages into Chapter 07. John and the Mary of this 'verse have just met. This story will be based on "The Sign of Four", but not very closely. I've fun writing it, although it isn't an easy task... especially with all those Whoniverse characters placed in St Mary Mead, in vastly different roles.

I'm a bit stuck with The Neutral Zone. I know where I want to go with the story, I'm just not entirely sure how to get there. Dwobbit is stuck at the moment, too. I need to write the dratted unexpected party, and I need to make it different, without going wildly AU. Plus, movieverse elements are sneaking in, despite my best efforts, because a film will always have an unfair advantage when it comes to dialogue. *sighs*

So, these are the stories currently "alive", although I wish by God I could get Brothers-in-Arms (the only Cadfael WIP) out of my hair, after all those years.

What about your awesome story of Ianto and Gwen in ancient Wales?

Oh, that one! I quasi-finished it a long time ago, because I've run out of ideas, and frankly, some parts would need serious rewriting. I should also add a couple more chapters, but currently don't have any inspiration, I'm afraid.

I'm not giving up just yet! But at first I'm trying to finish some other stuff that actually lets himself be written.

Until then, Ianto will have to sit in his library/coffee shop in Much Benham and help Miss Marple figure out how Sherlock has been framed.
