Dangerous housework

I was backing the last batch of Christmas cookies yesterday and accindentally dropped the hot baking tin onto my hand when taking it out of the oven. Stupid me; should have checked whether the surface of the kitchen hearth is empty before placing the tin on it.

In any case, fortunately there was some Bepanthen Plus salve handy, and I only ruined one of the delicious cookies. My hand looks really ugly, but these BAYER products are very good, so hopefully there won't be any lasting scarring.

Housework is a dangerous thing.

Thanks! It doesn't actually hurt, this wound salve is excellent, but it does lookdisturbingly ugly.

Even minor burns tend to look unpleasant, let alone what you've done. A good salve makes all the difference though.

OUCH!! This is why I rarely bake, I'm an accident waiting to happen! XD
Do you have an Aloe Vera plant? It's very useful for cooling burns + healing the skin!

I've got Bepanthen Plus from BAYER, very helpful, too.

Stupid reflexes! Had I had the time to think (as Sherlock would no doubt suggest), I'd let the tin fall to the floor - which it did anyway, despite catching my hand on its way down. But you know how it is: you see something fall and you grab at it without thinking.

I've often burned my hand by cooking or baking, but this is the worst so far. *sighs*

My hand was getting better quite nicely, until I idiot managed to scratch the end of a banana across the healing surface while doing teh shopping. *sighs* It's high time for Christmas break. I've never been so clumsy in my life!

Strangely, an injured hand seems to have the tendency to bump into things much more frequently than a hale one. I nver knew you needed so much of a hand's surface for so many different things. A learning experience, even if a somewhat painful one.

Yeah, and they take forever to heal. Add the dentist appointment this afternoon and you'll have the most perfect day I could imagine - NOT!
