Now that the major part of the baking orgy is over, I feel strangely drained. I'm planning to bake 2 or 3 more sorts and will probably skip the rest - I'll see. I only do this as long as it's fun and relaxing. I've gifted two large plates upon my respective neighbours (there are small kids on both sides) and one upon my colleagues, as well as smaller portions upon diverse friends and acquaintances, so I can call it a success, even if I stop here.

Work is being hectic. Period. I haven't been able to write anything since the last week of [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo, although I did a great deal of research and background work for a Tolkienverse story I'm so not starting to write until at least two WIPs are finished. I wrote down all the stuff by hand, with fine-liner pens into pretty exercise books. Yeah, I'm a nerd, how did you guess?

Added Fiondil's "Stirrings of Shadow" to m[livejournal.com profile] telekis_vendiak. I really ought to update my story rec comm more often. If there only were more time... *le sigh*

Mum & me were discussing travelling plans for next year. We both agreed that this time, it should be Germany. I lived there for years, but there are still lots of interesting places where neither of us has ever been. Berlin, for starters. Or Hamburg.

Right now, we're going for a one-day-trip to Kassa (=Kosice, Slowakia) on Saturday, organized by my workplace. Never been there, either, so it ought to be interesting. I only wish we would go by train, not by bus, But apparently, the bus is cheaper and more practical. Send good, dry weather our way on Saturday.

Thanks for the link to your recommendations comm, I'll have to poke around when I get a moment. I haven't seen many Tolkien recs of late. Here's hoping you get a bit more time to write soon.

Well, I guess I ought to be careful what I wish for - today we had a stromy wind, and it apparently damaged my satellite dish - so I can only watch DVDs or videotapes. That's one way to remove obstacles from the way of concentration, I guess. I could have done without it, though.

Ack! Shakes fist at gods! We've had strong winds for three days now. Makes it hard to sleep.

Not to mention that LJ seems to have problems again. It stopped mailing me comments. *sighs*

If you want to do a northern Germany tour, I can recommend Bremen as a nice place to spend two or three days - and it's close to Hamburg and Berlin. Depending on how much time you'll have, you might be able to tour all three cities.

Congratulations on finishing the bulk of your baking orgy! I'm a bit jealous: I've been so swamped with work adn travel for work that I've barely cooked for myself. However, I am going to try to send your prezzie again, this time from my regular post office, not through amazon.com. Hopefully, you'll get the package this time...

You and Gemma are really spoiling me rotten! I wish I could pack some of the cookies in a tin box and send you for Christmas Eve, but I seriously doubt they would make it through customs, and I don't want their drug-seeking dog feast on my cookies. ;)

Now, if it were the Earthpig, of course, that would be a completely different situation...
