The steady:

Battlestar Galactica. The original, one and only 1978 show.
I've been truly, deeply, madly in love with it since 1990 or so. Since I first saw it on German TV. Bought the books, bought the videos, then even bought the DVDs. Despite the occasional crappy writing and the sometimes painfully stupid stories. But it had great sets, wonderful characters, amazing actors and humanity aplenty. Plus girl warriors at a time when girls still used to be merely decoration.

Oh, and if I ever got my hand on Ron Moore I'll be squeezing his scrawny neck as long as he still takes breath for what he's done to my beloved show. I wouldn't have minded BGS - The Next Generation. I didn't mind it with Star Trek. In fact, I loved it. But this gender-bending, character-raping, blasphemy, the complete change of a wonderful universe, is something I'll never forgive him.

The old flame you don’t see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets:

Star Trek, Buffy, Space 1999, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,to name just a few older ones. There are many more. I collect fandoms like other people collect stamps, as I've mentioned a few entries ago.

The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it:

Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda and also Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict. But especially Andromeda, before it would become "Hercules in Space". Nuff said. Die, Dylan Hunt, die!

The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized he really was fucking crazy:

Angel the Series. It started out so well. It was so good until the last 4 eps of Season 2. After that, it went steadily downhill. I didn't even manage to watch it beyond mid-Season 3. Perhaps Lost, too. I had high hopes for that one, but had to give up on it after repeated attempts.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you’d still really like to fuck again although you’re relieved he doesn’t actually live in town:

Hmmm, tough one. Lemme think about it, and I'll return to the question eventually.

The alluring stranger whom you’ve flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:

The Adventures of Lois and Clark.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you’re just good buddies ‘cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain’t:

Castle. I mostly watch it for Nathan Fillion, and because Mum enjoys it so much, and there aren't many shows that we'd both enjoy.

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it’s never really gone anywhere:

Blood Ties. Enjoyed it, but couldn't really got caught up in it. Also, Heroes. Enjoyed the pretty boys (Ramamurthy or Cabrera anyone), was delighted to see Nichelle Nichols again, but the show itself is just too weird for my taste.

The one who’s slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, “Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?”:

Supernatural. I started to watch but found it too clichéd and downright boring. Also, Smallwille. The main hero made me itch with irritation.

The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks and whom she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you’d be happy for her except you just know it’s going to end badly:

Doctor Who. *blinks sheepishly at all her British friends* I loved the first series of New Who, with the 9th Doctor aka Christopher Eccleston, despite the Rose factor, but passionately hated everything to do with Ten. Despite Martha and Donna who rocked.

The ones you repeatedly cheat on your steady with:

Merlin, Torchwood, Doctor Who (I'm trying to watch episodes of the older shows on YouTube), Space: Above and Beyond and more. I really have a loose morale in that area.

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and who you measure all other potential partners against:

Star Trek, forever. Except Enterprise, which I don't even consider part of the parcel.

Yeah, I just couldn't think of any. That's why I left it open. Babylon 5 perhaps. I'm just not sure.
