I hate people. I really do.

I wanted to finally buy the thirce damned Christmas tree today, as I was completely swallowed by mind-numbing work and Christmassy things (for the kids) all week. So, I went down to the nearby market in the midst of a small snowstorm - yep, it's snowing here like crazy, too - at 16.10 in the afternoon. The vendor, from whom I've been buying the goddamned Christmas trees for years, told me to get lost because they wanted to pack up and go home.
Now, just so that you understand: we've had a regular workday today, substituting for December 24. So, theoretically, I could have come directly from work, wanting to buy my fucking Christmas tree. That I didn't, since we work different hours at school, doesn't matter. I could have. Mum and I have been abroad in the fucking snow storm because we needed to do things we couldn't because of my stupid working hours, so no, I simply couldn't be there earlier to buy that fucking tree.
I'll never, ever buy as much as a twig from that vendor again. In fact, I'm considering not buying a tree this year at all. And since Mum fished out of the garbage bin a Christmas present that I'd thrown away because I found it insulting - and that twice! - I'm pissed off at her, too.
Oh, and tomorrow we're gonna have our annual Christmas concert. At 18.50, in a church that - while not particularly far from the place where I live - is a bit complicated to reach. Even without the snow storm of the decade going on. I just hope I won't lose my voice till tomorrow; in theory, I'm gonna have three contralto solo parts, unless plans change in the last minute, which is known to have happened.

Date: 2009-12-20 09:37 am (UTC)Sorry you were treated badly after going out in that horrible weather. I hope you find a better tree somewhere else.

Date: 2009-12-20 09:41 pm (UTC)The concert was a success. I sung well. And I got wonderful prezzies from my online benefactors, so holidays promise a good time.

Date: 2009-12-20 09:44 pm (UTC)Hey, I got your present, thanks ten thousand times! As you guessed, I couln't wait until Xmas and watched the whole thing in two marathon sessions. Will post my thoughts on Tuesday, most likely, as Monday will be horrible. But mostly, I liked the first part of the season. Even though Lancelot seems to have had a haircut that I hate. He was so much prettier with long(ish) hair.

Date: 2009-12-22 08:50 pm (UTC)Actually, this is one of my main gripes with the costume department: the way too modern haircuts of the main cast. Not with Merlin, he's actually very cute with the hair he has, and besides, he's a servant, he shouldn't look fancy. But Uther and Arthur - I don't mean they ought to have really long hair, medieval knight usually didn't either. But they had a different haircut, and Giles Uther and Arthur look really stupid with those wide crowns sitting on that short hair like some sort of torture instrument.
I know it isn't a really medieval show, but if they do the armour properly, they should do the noble haircut a bit more properly, too. They could give that King Bayor of Mercia (or what the heck was his name), so why not the main characters.
Yes, I know I'm strange. But whenever I see Uther with slave haircut and crown, I have to giggle hysterically. Despite the fact that I absolutely love the actor.

They do, rather. Especially in the wedding scene where they both walk in wearing crowns.
