It seems that my tinnitus has spread. Aside from hearing hissing and piping and ringing tones in my right ear in irregular intervalls, now I have a constant, low-key humming noise in my left ear, as from this evening. And it shows no signs of going away any time, soon.

Fortunately, it's not too loud. But it's most disturbing nonetheless. I know there isn't a cure for this kind of thing; my Grandma had it, my Mum has it, so I've probably inherited the affinity, and the stress and the noise level at school did the rest.

It was not completely unexpected. I just wish I hadn't started twenty years earlier than the others of the family.

Oh, hun, that is annoying. I know they apparently can't do anything about tinnitus, but is it likely not to be the same level of noise all the time, or does it come and go?

Hugs!

Tinnitus is so annoying. :-(

What do you do - keep the radio playing at low volume or something like that?

Ouch, Eva! I am sorry to hear that! I have gained an annoying small form of it, though - a constant nearly inaudible hiss on the left ear, that won't go away even when I cover both ears, and is especially noticeable in silence. But to my great relief it is not worse, yet. I hope it will stay that way.

I am sorry that you have it that bad. :(

Oh dear, that's bad. My mom has tinnitus, too. It's so annoying. She sometimes takes herbal pills, they don't make it go away, but they help to make it better. I'll see if I can find them and will tell you the name. Maybe you can get something similar in Hungary.

Puch, that sounds really bad. My father got it last year and it annoys him to no end, so I feel your pain *hugs*

I'm very sorry to learn of this development: tinnitus can be really distracting. And it's not something where being precocious is desirable, certainly. I hope it will back off again, at least a bit, and give you those 20 years!

I'm very sorry to hear this. Even if there's no cure, I hope you can learn to live with it calmly, at least.
