Nothing really interesting, to tell the truth, just small things. School doesn't really leave me any time for bigger tasks.

In any case, I've done a lot of Dwarf research, just for the fun of it. Moved along this year's Advent Calendar a bit. Updated "The Toreador Chronicles" again - you can see the new chapter at [livejournal.com profile] hiddenrealms, complete with Teh Evil Cliffhanger of Doom(TM).

Two former students resurfaced, wanting to learn English/prepare themselves for language proficiency exam of German, respectively. They're very nice girls, I'll be happy to see them regularly again.

So, what else? I'm still moderately sick, not to mention tired and a bit worried about the political situation, especially now that food prices are going to rocket to the skies. But what can we do?

Sounds like you might be able to pick up a bit of tutoring money just when it would really come in handy. Here's hoping this heralds other good changes in your life.

That's good news about the former students reappearing - I hope that will bring in a little extra money. It sounds like it'll be useful if prices go up so much.

Well, only one of the girls is going to pay - the other's family couldn't really allow it, but she's so willing and talented, she deserves some extra care. Even so, though, a bit of money will be welcome. I'm saving this little income for next summer, so that I'll be able to make some nice holidays.

It's really insane at the moment, economically. And I'm better off than most, with having my mother with me and no children of my own to feed. Still, it's a bit depressing to have pay more for everything in every other month or so. Ah, well, as Mum says, as long as we're healthy, we'll manage.

Enjoy the pleasures of students who want to learn. I admire you for being willing to teach someone, even though she can't pay you, just because she deserves the teaching. You truly are a dedicated teacher! [keeping fingers crossed re: politics and economy]

Nice that those students have resurfaced, it shows you did something right when you taught them before. Good luck with the English teaching!

Well, the deal is that she does pay a little (2/3 of what other students pay), but if she manages to pass the language proficiency exam, she gets her money back in the form of a savings book, or whatever it's called in English.

I'd be willing to teach her for free, but this way, she's better motivated to actually make the exam... and she'll have some money saved for her future, if she truly does. She's the same girl I've been paying a "private scholarship" for the last four years. She doesn't know it comes from me, of course, that would be a bit awkward. But she gets her money after each term if she reaches a certain average of marks. So far, she has reached it each time (thinks it comes from some religious benefactor I've found for her), so I'm hopeful that she'll pass the exam, too.

I'm so very proud of her. She's a nice girl, and an eager one, without overdoing it.

Hi, Soledad! I just found your little nudge in my inbox; it was nice to hear from you! It's true that I haven't updated my rcfinch lj in more than half a year, but I did post a few updates to the other one, [livejournal.com profile] maglors_finch recently, mostly to announce some new HP fanfics after a major writer's block.

Actually, I considered deleting the other one but decided to postpone the decision for a while. Moving is hell, and so is having a daughter with school problems. But I've clambered out of the pit and reached Limbo now, so who knows what will happen in the future.

I was sorry to read you're sick and tired. Get well soon! As for the rocketing food prices, is that because of the %$&# Euro?

Hi Finch,

It's good to see that you're still with us. You've been missed, and I'm sure not just by me.

Please, don't delete this journal. Those of us who're not fans of Harry Potter would still like to know how you're doing. Sorry to hear about your RL stress, but here is to thing sgetting better.

No, the food prices aren't rocketing because of the Teuro. We manage to ruin our economy entirely on our own. Not that this would be something to be proud of, mind your...

Well, being too attached to my own scribblings, I probably won't we able to delete the journal at all... So maybe I'll post again, some time in the future.

Oh yes, and I love the pun "Teuro"!

Sadly, I can't take the credit for the pun. It originates from German TV.

As for your scribblings, I still haven't given up the hope to read something from you again, one day. When things have calmed up around you a bit. I just can't bring up any interest for Harry Potter, I'm afraid. Never could, although I've forced myself through the first 6 volumes, so far... with increasing difficulties.
