Back on October 23, when the riots peaked, a young cop with a broken leg (due to the stones thrown by the protesters) was delivered to the hospital. The lead doctor of the ER refused to treat him "on principle" - he said that the cop "had probably chased too many protesters, that's why he injured himself".

The sad irony is, that even if the investigation finds this "doctor" - and I'm using the word in the widest possible sense - guilty, he'll come way with having to pay some fee. Instead of kicking him out of his goddamn job and never allowing him to work as a doctor again. Ever.

This miserable country has really gone to the dogs.

Mum can't stop shaking her head, considering the fact that this same irresponsible asshole used to be the one treating her after she'd been attacked on the street.

Hi, Soledad! I really hope that wonderful example of the medical craft get's expelled from his job at some pint, because such a thing is just... unethical. And beyond words. Blerg!

My best wishes to you! -- Aislynn

I agree with you, that "doctor" should have been kicked out from his profession. Some people are simply too stupid for words. I understand that you mum must wonder what is going on in his head.

Way to go with the medical ethics there, doc.

Yeah. Of course, the other medical personnel present at the time "hasn't heard a thing" - now whether because the young cop was "lying" or because the guy is the chief honcho of the ER is hard to tell - so there probably won't be any investigation. But the mere idea that something like this might happen makes me sick.

Afraid not. Apparently, nobody else has heard the remark (isn't it wonderful how medical personnel can go all blind and deaf if they have to?), so they'll simply sweep everything under the carpet as soon as the media has found another bone to gnaw on.

Well, they apparently can't prove anything. Nobody else has heard or seen a thing, except the cop and his wife, who's an ER nurse in the very same hospital, so there are speculations now (from the right side, of course) that the cop was lying...

I really, really hate what my country has become.

When there are different stories and no outside witnesses, those are the hardest cases. Particularly when both persons are usually trusted. On the whole I think this is sad. :(
