More weird dreams and other stuff

wiseheartLast night I dreamed that Mum and I entered an elevator. We needed to get off on the 4th floor, but we just couldn't find the button for that one, so we decided to go up to the 10th floor, which was the designation of an unknown woman who was with us in the cabin.
Strangely enough, we ended up on a street - it was Budapest and yet it wasn't. The street names all around were completely unfamiliar, and the place was full of strange people who were poorly clad and apparently didn't believe in washing. Mum is usually the one who goes and asks for directions, but this time, she didn't have the courage to do so.
After a long while, in which we were searching for at least some familiar streets, finally a woman came, who seemed just as much out of place there as we did. I asked her about the whole situation, and she told me that the elevators were rigged in a particular way - whenever the death toll in a particular region went above nine persons, the 'lift automatically redirected its passengers to a new direction.
Doesn't sound too promising, does it?
In this particular case I do have an inkling what's behind it, though. Mum and I are going to Transylvania next weekend, for 2.5 days - our place of origins, which isn't our home anymore, as we've been living in Hungary for 42 years by now. Strange how one's unconscious mind works.
On other news, I bought some books yesterday. One is Eldest by Christopher Paolini, the second part of the Inheritance trilogy, the first part of which is Eragon. I found the first part interesting, written with the naivete of a then-15-year-old author. So far, the second part is... different. Not exactly bad, but... I don't know.
The second book was Andersen's Fairy Tales in English, which I bought to enrich my vocabulary.
Aside from that, we cleaned the dratted flat again, so I'll have my peace for a couple of weeks again.
