... back is still sh*tty, but I had a busy day nonetheless.

- I took down the dried washing;
- I gave Mum her weekly shower;
- I washed my hair;
- I did a bit of crafting: the two tiny ironing boards;
- I did a tiny bit of writing - only a few paragraphs, but as we say it on [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo, every word counts;
- I cooked lunch (simply Käsespätzle, so that was easy);
- I put away all Christmas ornaments and the remaining cookie boxes; chaos has been partially eliminated.

I had another night of uneasy sleep (waking up three times during less than seven hours isn't exactly relaxing) and intended to catch up with it a little in the afternoon. Alas, when I finally found a position in which my back didn't hurt and almost fell asleep, the phone rang. Mum was in the kitchen, doing the washing-up, so I had to get up (in which process I pulled something in my back even worse, as I didn't have the time to do it slowly and carefully) to answer the phone - only to tell Mum's oldest lady friend that she'll call her back as soon as the washing-up is done. Grrrr!

In any case, I wasn't able to fall asleep after that. I just lay there and experienced the throbbing in my lower back in full awareness. After a while I gave up and started solving crossword puzzles. Lying on my side. For some reason that helped things to return to the occasional dull ache. Of course, it was not so good for my recently-recovered neck and shoulder, so I'd say the end result is 1:1. Getting old is definitely not for the wimps!

I did find a YouTube channel with promising exercises, though, so I'll give them a try... in the hope they won't make everything worse. *g*
