Preparing for battle

I mean, the carpet cleaning. I've already emptied one corner cabinet and the top of the dratted piano. Mum is planning to wash all those crystals and china after the cleaner has finished. She says, it has to be done once a year. Which doesn't make any sense, IMO, since if we ever need to use those dishes (which happens roughly once a decade), they would have to be washed anyway. But some things aren't worth fighting over.

Mum also had a visit from the physiotherapist lady who was kind enough to take down our lace curtains (I can't do that myself because of my inability to climb beyond the second rung of a ladder), which will be washed tomorrow and put back on by the cleaner guy the day after. Lovely. *note the sarcasm*

Other than these "fun" things, I made tomato soup for lunch (still had some apfelstrudel for afters) and made some progress with my quiet book project. The houses are finally sewn on to the front page (well, I still have to finish one roof, but other than that), I added the chimneys (without smoke), and all that's left are the bushes. I hope it will be pretty.

I had a nice phone chat with H., so social life also got served. And now I'm dreading tomorrow, when I'll have to find some storage space for all the things I usually put out onto the corridor but now can't, due to the floor works - the ones that ought to have been finished at July 21! *is royally pissed*
