I had to cook today - in advance for tomorrow as well, as tomorrow we'll have a visit from our chiropodist lady, aka the chatterbox. So, in a light bout of insanity I decided to make (close your eyes, [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising) cauliflower strudel. Nothing very complicated, save that I had to take the cauliflower apart, chop the ham, grate the cheese and find a way to use up the parts of the cauliflower that didn't go into the strudel because only 500 gram were required for it.

So I also made cauliflower soup, putting the boiling water of the thing to good use. The smell in the flat after all this was indescribable. *g* But the strudel is very yummy, even though I underestimated the power of the dried chili flakes I crumbled into the filling. Spitting fire might be on the programme for the next two days or so.

Today was both physiotherapist day and choir practice, so I didn't have much time left in-between all these things. I did write about half a page (mostly out of sheer pig-headed stubbornness) and also did a bit of work on the next pencil holder. Mostly mundane stuff like cutting out the linen and the burlap and starting to sew them together. Nothing finished, though. But there's always tomorrow.

On my way to choir practice I paid the Chinese (or Vietnamese?) drugstore a visit, so our bathroom is refilled with deodorant, talcum powder, body lotion, shower gel and the likes. My policy is: one of each in use and one on the shelf, so that we won't have to run like headless chickens when the one in use runs out. One has to be practical at my age.
