Sunday evening blues
Nov. 5th, 2023 07:49 pmToday I had to go to the supermarkets. It was raining, and when it's raining, mass transportation slows down. Grocery shopping took me all the morning - we actually had breakfast close to noon!
I've finished another lavender-infused pillow and started the gargantual task of bringing to my pantry shelves (no actual pantry in these flats) into some semblance of order. Managed to find several packages of the same spices I bought at the supermarket today. Great. Should have done the things the other way round, but it's too late now.
I've created six new Christmas ornaments, using some hard felt flowers I had bought at Tedi when they were on sale as the bases. They were too large for my usual felt work, and I was at a loss what to do with them. Now they are little Christmas fairies... or they will be, once I draw their faces and add some little self-adhesive gems. There was little actual sewing involved, I've glued on the heads, but what little sewing there was, it was done with metallic thread. 'Nuff said. Fellow crafters know what a pain working with those can be.
I also made another surprise box; we're at #77, if I've counted correctly. The good thing about working with toilet rolls is that you never run out of base material. *g*
We left the last portion of the Shepherd's Pie for tomorrow and ate Tütensuppe, cheesy buns and some of the cardboard cookies from yesterday for lunch. We are adaptable that way.
My friend Evie called, and we had a nice, long conversation on the phone. Autumn break is over, the slaves of the education business must go back to work tomorrow. God, am I happy to be such an old hag and safely retired!
