I needed to make up for the time I spent watching Trooping the Colour yesterday, so I was at it all morning and part of the afternoon. It was repetitive and even tiring after a while, but I made good progress on the two identical songbooks.

- 14 out of 16 page bases are equipped with basic background elements, such as trees, grassy stripes, clouds and suns. Which, considering that I first had to make the templates myself and then cut out everything by hand, wasn't a small feat, if I say so myself. Of course, I still have to sew on everything, as the parts are only taped on, but still, I'm getting the overall image what the books will look like. The colours are a bit psychedelic here and there as, of course, one never gets the exact kind of felt one would need, but they'll have to do.

- I managed to find my teddy template and alter it so that it would look more like a proper bear. So, bears are cut out as well. Fleas and mosquitoes left to do, plus a small house for each book, as well as many other details. But the thing is taking shape.

I allowed myself a short break, watching Money for Nothing, which Mum and I both enjoy. Even though sometimes the "rescued" items looked better in their original (rather battered) shape than after the "facelift", IMO. I'm surprised how many people are willing to buy such... odd items.

Not much else was there on the telly to watch, so I played a bit of Solitaire on my geriatric laptop, solved some crossword puzzles and am about to read some fanfic. Yeah, I know it's a shame that fanfic is about the only thing I read in these days (save for stuff for research), but with such a limited attention span I need to read things I actually enjoy. Or not, as the case may be, in which case I can simply hit the Back button. A wonderful invention, the Back button. I wish more people would make use of it, instead of giving the authors grief because they don't agree with his/her view of a particular fandom.
