Good things first: the public choir practice went very well, we got a lot of praise. Our choir leader is greatly relieved; she had been a nervous wreck before the whole thing.

I gave something called Bretonischer Butterkuchen a try. It turned out fairly well; however, next time I'll add some baking powder, even though the recipe doesn't ask for it. I don't like it when a biscuit is that heavy.

My friend Evie came for a short visit, brought us some apples and tomatoes (leftovers at school that can be taken home by the employees) and was duly impressed by my Christmas cards. I'm up to 55, BTW.

The less than happy news is that the school secretary who organizes our egg orders made a mistake. She wrote in the general e-mail that the eggs can be ordered by Tuesday (Nov 15) and fetched on Thursday (Nov 17). Which would be this week. Only that she'd actually meant last week, and so my poor eggsies were waiting in her office for me to fetch them for almost 6 days! Today, when I went to choir practice, the janitor warned me that the chicken might hatch, should I fail to collect my eggsies. Only that no-one alerted me about the mistake, or else I'd have done so in time! I just hope they won't go bad; fortunately, it isn't that warm at school. Still, it is annoying.
