Not much to report
Oct. 2nd, 2022 07:45 pm( Beware of the whining )
On the crafting front, I've made the page base for the Christmas tree page. In case you are interested, this was the inspiration:
I think mine will turn out quite different, since I won't be able to get most of the required appliqués, so I'll have to improvise as I go, but that's all right. There are some details I don't like anyway, and the last thing I'd put on top of my tree would be a five-pointed red star. I've sewn on the tree already - it got wider than originally planned, and not quite as pretty in shape as in the video, but since I cut it our from a piece of doubled-over felt free hand it isn't that bad. And on a fat tree there is lots of room for pretty decorations, right?
Sat1 postponed the next episode of Das Große Backen for tomorrow, which is annoying. There was absolutely nothing to watch on the telly save for The Repair Shop around mid-day. I'm surprised that I actually did any crafting done without background telly.
The company providing us with something vaguely like central heating (barely warmed pipes) likes to play the guessing game. On some days they start the heating around 7pm already; on other days only at midnight. Seems that this will be one of those other days. Not a problem during the day when the sun warms up the flat a bit and we're doing things anyway, but in the evening, sitting at the desk right by wall and window, it's a bit unpleasant. Ah, well, at least it's a bit warmer during the night, so we don't catch our death when getting up and going to the loo.
Thank God for the insulation work done last summer - that way what little warmth we get actually stays inside. Earlier, when we had these lively winds, they pressed the warmth out of the walls and whatnot. Now only poor Mum suffers because her joints ache when the weather is windy. *pats Mum*
