Ich habe Fernweh!
Aug. 15th, 2022 06:59 pmToday I couldn't stop thinking of Austria and the cities and towns I used to visit there and would dearly love to see again. Yeah, we all know just how bloody likely that is... But I was resting a bit in the early afternoon, seeing with my inner eye Vienna and St. Pölten and Krems an der Donau and Linz and Graz... even remembering Kufstein, which I've only visited very briefly, dreaming about seeing them again. *sigh*
Other than that, I made Gebundene Gemüsesuppe for lunch and sewed on little penguin feet, stitching through 3-4 layers of very hard felt, plus at least one layer of double-sided tape that I use to keep the parts together. My fingers are not happy with me, but at least all 10 penguins have their feet now. Three of the double-layered front panels are completed, with wings and bow ties and a tiny, sparkly foam sticker Christmas tree. All they need are the hangings and the stitching on of the back panels. I think I'll be done in, oh, a week or three.
I've just come to realize how boring my daily entries have become. It's basically all about crafts, cooking and other domestic stuff. But it's hard to report anything interesting when one's life looks like mine. At least we are still safe and healthy... for now.
