Today was moderately busy: I only had to cook, since - thanks to the sudden drop of temperatures - the laundry was still somewhat wet in the morning. Which means I'll have to take it down tomorrow, which already promises to be a fairly busy day, but that can't be helped.

Therefore I've finished the last three heart-patterned mini-mittens and selected the embellishments for the next batch. These will have small satin flowers as decoration. No, I haven't made the flowers myself. I've bought 1.5 cm wide satin ribbons that come in the form of interconnected flowers and cut them to pieces; then I sewed on the individual flowers. Brutal, I know, but quick and efficient. I like quick and efficient. If only other things would go so swimmingly!

After lunch I used the first half of the afternoon to do some actual writing (!!!) and the other half to shift through my ribbon boxes to find the best hanging for my mini-mittens. I've finally ordered the boxes in the process, rolling up random pieces of ribbon and the likes. It was delightful work - I've got so many beautiful ribbons, no piece is longer than a metre, they are a real joy to look at. Mum examined my hoard and decided that they're pretty indeed. Most of it I bought at the craft shop (and they weren't cheap!), but there are individual pieces that came as decoration for boxes of chocolate (back in the Stone Age when I actually got such gifts) and the likes. So yeah - a rich and beautiful hoard. I do have a soft spot for pretty ribbons... among other crafty things.

Also, yesterday I went into Firefox's settings and managed to cajole back all the thumbnails that vanished from the start page during the last update. So I'm a bit proud of myself. Being such a techno-wheenie means that the smallest success counts as a major victory. ;)
