They say that overconfidence comes before the fall... or something similar, I don't remember very well. In any case I was very proud not having any side effects after my first jab. Now, after the second one, I have a slightly reddened and itchy jab site and a somewhat swollen and tender upper arm. I've read the official statement and learned that these are fairly common side effects, and apparently, the majority gets them after the second jab. I'm still not happy about it, but considering I could have cold shivers and fever and headaches, I think I got away with the lesser evil. Or so I hope.

In other news I did the weekly laundry today (one day behind schedule because I was so bloody exhausted yesterday), wrote a bit and even did a bit of paper embroidery. I postponed making the non-beaded version of the beaded Easter egg because I didn't felt up to the challenge of create the new design and did a more religious motif instead.

Behold the cross with the swirls:

In case the colours don't come through true, the cross is stitched with a very pale golden/pink metallic thread and the swirls with a bright, light green. I've messed up the pattern in a few places - working with vectors isn't easy, and the thread often camouflages the actual hole you need to put the needle - but I like the outcome nonetheless.

Mum continues to progress, little baby step by little baby step, for which I am grateful. Our life has been very much the same before her accident, ever since the dratted virus invaded it - save for the fact that she needed less help with her daily routine, of course. But we have the time to deal with the slower speed.
