Happy Birthday, dear [livejournal.com profile] lindahoyland!

I wish I could give you a bouquet like this in real life, but it's the intention that counts, right? I hope you're having a great day with the boys and lots of phone calls from friends. *hugs*

Dear [livejournal.com profile] akane42me, I hope you're having a wonderful birthday with family, good food and lots of love going your way.

Here, allow me to provide some virtual calories to the feast:

This is Mary Berry's cherry cake, made by me, and while the photo might not be the best, let me assure you that it was indeed very tasty. *hugs*

I went to school today to fetch the eggs I've ordered. I carefully timed my arrival for when the kiddies were still in their classrooms and the teachers' room was mostly empty. Still, in the about 30 minutes I was there I met most of my friends - we waved at each other from a safe distance, with doors and windows open and at least some of them wearing masks (including me) - then Monica, our choir conductor, gave me a lift home. So that I didn't have to haul all my groceries plus the eggs onto a crowded bus. Yay!

I worked a bit more on the next chapter of "A Stitch in Time". I think I've done interesting things with RTD's one-dimensional, totally illogical and physically impossible baddies, the 456. World-building is fuuun!

Other than that, I can't present any interesting news. Which is good, I think. I don't mind leading a boring life, as long as it means some semblance of safety. Which is why I avoid the news like the plague. It's not good for my blood pressure, and there's nothing I can change on the grand scale of things anyway.

Two days indoors are before me. I'm actually looking forward to it.
