Fun with Mum
Jul. 15th, 2020 07:34 pmAfter finishing two food runs in the morning, I took Mum for the promised outing.
First we went to the Allee shopping centre, where we started at the craft shop. I used two-thirds of my remaining gift cards to get myself a sturdy pair of scissors - the kind made for cutting fabric. My craft scissors are basically all for paper; the better ones manage felt, but cotton fabric is a different cup of espresso. I also bought some heart-shaped buttons in red, pink and white and some yellow ribbon I need to seam the two pot holders I intend to make.
Then we went to Koffein, a somewhat fancy (and rather expensive) coffee shop and had some delicious cappuccino. Having strengthened ourselves, we took the escalator down to the Lindt chocolate shop, where we found that they were selling 300-gram Lindor chocolate balls 30 per cent cheaper than usual. The reduced price is still a bit hair-raising, but Mum decided that we deserved it and insisted on buying a bag. The nice side effect of shopping there is that upon paying they always offer you one Lindor ball, so we both got one for free and consumed them blissfully on the spot. *g*
We then walked over to the roofed market that is between the shopping center and our tram stop, as one Chinese shop there sells the brand of washing powder Mum swears by; one that we failed to find anyone else. We stocked up with the stuff and also bought some other cosmetic products, since they are a lot cheaper than in the big supermarkets, and came home very content.
By that time we were both half-dead, of course. Fortunately, we didn't have to cook, as we still had some soup from yesterday, and I bought some savoury scones at ALDI in the morning. So we had a quick and easy lunch today. Afterwards, I talked to Erna (another long-time friend and ex-colleague) on the phone and fell asleep in front of the telly - do you see some pattern in that part? ;))
So, no writing and no crafting today, but it was a pleasant and successful day (even if somewhat exhausting), so I'm not complaining.
