Aside from the stupid nitpicker, yesterday was a fairly eventful day. In the morning we had the chiropodist lady come over (she was an hour and 15 minutes late - a new record, even with her notorious late-being), and in the afternoon my choir friend Enie fetched me with her car. We went to Stühmer's Café for a private little celebration as she's turned 50 on June 30. I made her the birthday journal you could see a few entries ago, with the funny German texts, and another batch of maripan-filled, chocolate-covered dates.

It was great to do something as normal as going to a café again. In the hour we spent there we were the only guests, save for a guy who spent perhaps ten minutes two tables ago, and the people who just came in to buy chocolates went to the shop front, so we were undisturbed. I loved it. Since we went by car, I could even wear my only pair of pretty little shoes:

They are pretty, and actually even comfortable, but I still can't walk in them very far because they don't give my feet enough support. I was happy to take them to a short trip, though.

This morning was fairly cool, so I hurriedly made a cheesecake before summer returned with a vengeance. After that, I typed up all the recently written half-chapters to Magic Mirror, in the hope that I might finish them somewhen next week. Then we ate the last of the leftovers, and now I think I'll watch some telly. But I'll be back later to comment on the [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo snippets. :)
