wiseheart: (Miss Marple)
But hunting days rarely are. I went to various food shops in the early morning because we've run out of milk and bread and other such stuff. My back was acting up today, more than in the two or three days before; perhaps it no longer likes when I'm hauling bags around. Tough. I can't avoid it.

Then I cooked dinner - well, actually I cooked soup. That turkey ragout soup with mushrooms and estragon Mum likes so much. We still had some leftover asparagus risotto, and I even bought a tin of Radler for afters.

Service guy came today with the repaired tv remote. Mum didn't hear the actual price well and gave him a seriously oversized tip. But the sad truth is that we need him, and he always comes running at the first phone call, so it's all right. Next time Mum will listen better. Or ask again. It was a pricely affair to begin with.

Also, one of our young colleagues marries tomorrow - in a small family circle; the real ceremony will be held when the virus finally goes away - and we decided to put together some money as a wedding gift because what is it young families need most? Righ. Cash. But I'm also making a wedding card to go with it, using this card as the front:

I'll glue it onto a double card, with a nice citation in the inside (courtesy of E. who's a literature teacher and a librarian) and an empty sheet facing it, where everyone can sign the card. I'll have to finish it during the weekend as I'm meeting E. on Tuesday to deliver it. I'll put up a pic of the finished card later.

So, that was my day. And now I'm tired and will watch some crap telly to relax.
