wiseheart: (Valinor by Ted Nasmith)
[livejournal.com profile] picowrimo is over for the time being, and I'm missing it already. Putting up the daily posts, reading everyone's entries, their reports about what they did or did not manage to write on any particular day gave me something regular to do - and inspired me to actually work on my dratted stories. Also, it was a pleasant distraction, and I could really use one.

So, on the first pico-free day in a month, I went on doing some (hopefully) paid translating, as well as started translating Chapter 3 of "The Billion Year Voyage". It was a comparatively short day, as I've offered to cook lunch and also baked some buns to use up the old instant yeast I found in one of the spice cupboard drawers. Alas, the "best before" date had been September 2017, so the buns had gone up about 4 millimetres or so and are heavy enough to use them in a gun. But I'll slice them thinly and toast them, so they'll do well enough, I think.

Other than that, I chatted on the phone to three (ex-)colleagues - not the same three as yesterday! - and continued re-watching Blood Ties. To my slight disappointment I found that it had lost some of its appeal during the years in-between. Not even Kyle Schmid appears as attractive as I used to find them when the series was new.
