Moody Monday
Jan. 13th, 2020 05:26 pmI'm sick like a dog. What a surprise - NOT! To the overall stuffed head and sore throat now I also have the usual lovely cough that makes it unable to sleep through the night. Why, again, did I believe that I could outsmart the cold this year? Just because I'm no longer working? Well, I was obviously wrong. *le sigh*
I didn't go to the Oldies today. Instead, I finished two plushies, the basic parts of which were cut out by someone from the late Monday Sewing Club and then abandoned. I call them the Red Duo, which sounds a lot better in Hungarian: a Piros Páros. They're basically done, I just need to find some nice, matching bows for them. Of course, there aren't any good ones in my collection, so that will require a trip to the craft shop. Not on the plan right now.
But aren't they cute?
Considering that they were cut out very haphazardly, I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
I also translated a scene from the last chapter of "The Sins of the Mothers". Then I tried to watch some telly, but I could barely keep my eyes open. So I've postponed the next Miss Marple episode for a time when I can actually focus. I watched Nemesis yesterday and wanted to start re-reading the book today, but I came to the startling realization that I probably don't have it. Which is odd, as I remember having ordered all Miss Marple books from Bestsellers (the British bookshop). I also seem to have missed A Caribbean Affair. Either that, or these two books have slipped somewhere into the back of my book cabinet - which means I'll have to rearrange the whole thing before ordering the books. I don't need two copies of each!
Not much else happened today. The weather is foggy and unpleasant, I feel like shit and can't focus on anything. I'd rather go to bed, but since I won't be able to sleep anyway, I try to put it off as long as I can.
