The calm before the storm
Sep. 30th, 2019 07:21 pmWe're looking forward to a very busy week, so I used today's calmness to prepare (and freeze) the spinach pancake squares for my birthday party on Friday and to try my hand on seaming one of the quiet book pages - well, two of them, as they're supposed to work back-to-back.
I didn't dare to use my darling birthday gift from Mum; I don't think the wee thing would manage to stitch through four to six layers of fairly hard felt, with a layer of double-sided tape in-between. So I did it by hand. I succeeded... although now my fingers hurt like whoa.
I also cut out some parts to the next page - the ladybug one. I had to cut out the leaf the bug will be sit on; the first version was of a really beautiful, dark moss green colour, but it proved too dark compared with the black head of the bug. So I put it away for later use and cut out another one, of a lighter colour. Pleased with the results.
